Crude finally punched 100 in the dark, printed 101.37, and then handed enough of it back to make the whole morning annoying. I want ES holding 7734.75 before I trust longs, while a break of 7727.50 keeps the overnight low in play. NQ needs 29653.75 back before its bounce earns anything, and below 29622.50 the lower shelf stays open. CL gets another shot higher only over 99.71, while 99.25 turns that giant overnight rip into a failed breakout. Gold is sitting in a two-dollar knife fight around 4140, with the reclaim over it and the break under 4137.70 spelling out both sides.
The Tape
ES sits at 7728.25, three ticks over Monday’s 7727.50 low but still beneath the 7734 overnight POC, balanced on a splinter. Monday rotated around 7743 and closed at 7734.75 after buyers failed to keep the upper half of value. Globex flushed to 7704.50, then rebuilt value from 7720.75 to 7746.25 without taking back Monday’s main volume. Reclaim 7734 and the 7743 stack becomes the magnet, with 7746.25 deciding whether the bounce is real. Lose 7727.50 and the overnight value low goes first, then the real test sits at 7704.50.
NQ is 29624.50, two points above the 29622.50 October 15 low and still under Monday’s 29653.75 low. Monday’s bounce died at 29983.50, then the session closed 29722.25 under its 29780 POC. The night broke Monday’s low, washed to 29478.50, and built its 29600 POC below prior-day value, which makes the recovery a failed breakdown but not a turn. Take 29653.75 back and 29706 is the first place buyers have to prove the flush was more than a stop run. Give up 29622.50 and 29575 goes next, with the whole overnight auction exposed down to 29478.50.
CL is 99.68, back above Monday’s 99.53 value high but under the old 99.71 ceiling it cleared overnight. Monday was a trend-up session from 97.10 to 99.71, then the 98.33 close left buyers with unfinished work. The night ripped to 101.37 and left most of its value between 99.25 and 100.96, which is one hell of a trip to wind up back here. Reclaim 100.56 and the overnight ceiling gets another look before the high. Lose 99.25 and the failed breakout lands first on last week’s 98.73 high, then the Monday and week POCs stacked at 98.70.
GC is 4138.70, sitting on last week’s 4137.70 value low and under the 4140 overnight POC after the month shelf gave way. Monday closed 4160.10 after failing its 4166 POC, and Globex kept walking value lower instead of snapping it back. The night reached 4130.10 while value slid from 4156.10 to 4136.80, so this is not some heroic bounce yet. Take 4140 and the September low becomes the first useful reclaim before October value. Lose 4136.80 and the auction goes straight back to the overnight low at 4130.10.

The Plan
ES:
ES is 7728.25, trapped between 7727.50 and 7734.75, and I want it out of that strip before the noise earns a trade. Hold over 7734.75 and the 7743 composite print comes first, followed by October value at 7745.25. Acceptance over 7746.25 opens the overnight high at 7752.75, then last week’s value floor at 7754.25. Break 7727.50 and the 7720.75 overnight value low gives way to the 7704.50 low. Below there, September value starts at 7696.50, last week’s low is 7676, and the deeper prior-month floor waits at 7575.
NQ:
NQ is 29624.50, pinned between 29622.50 and 29653.75 after buying back a 325-point overnight wash, and the catch is the bounce still lives under broken structure. Acceptance over 29653.75 puts last week’s value floor at 29706 first, then Monday’s value low at 29718.50. Keep climbing and Monday’s 29722.25 close leads into the September POC at 29739.25, with the 29780 composite print above it. Lose 29622.50 and the 29604.50 shelf is the first reoffer spot before overnight value at 29575. Below that, 29546.25 gives way to the overnight low at 29478.50, then the last nearby volume sits at 29460.
CL:
CL is 99.68, boxed between Monday’s 99.53 value high and the 99.71 breakout line, and my problem is it gave back most of the night. Reclaim 99.71 and September’s 99.89 high is the first job, then the overnight POC at 100.56. Hold 100.56 and the 100.96 value high opens another run at 101.37, where the night finally ran out of buyers. Lose 99.25 and last week’s 98.73 high catches first, followed by Monday’s 98.33 close. Under 98.04, Monday’s value floor at 97.73 is the final shelf before the session low at 97.10.
GC:
GC is 4138.70, sitting just over last week’s 4137.70 value low and already beneath the 4140 overnight print it needs to reclaim. Take 4140 and September’s 4143.10 low comes first, then October value at 4145.90. Build above there and 4156.10 leads to Monday’s 4160.10 close, with last week’s POC and October’s POC stacked at 4180. Lose 4137.70 and overnight value at 4136.80 opens the 4130.10 low. Under that low, 4129.20 and 4127.30 are thin catches before the last structural shelf at 4117.20.
The White Van Stuff
The equity books leave room on both sides, which fits two markets sitting on broken shelves and trying to decide whether the overnight flush mattered. Crude is much tighter around current price after the big run, while gold’s useful interest is spread far enough apart to be mostly decorative. The white van brought a map, not an answer, which is classic.
ES: The nearest marks squeeze ES between 7714 and 7744, while the day’s wider band stretches from 7669.25 to 7800.25. The bigger interest remains above current price, so 7744 is the first state change.
NQ: NQ sits between 29493 and 29693, with the cap at 29868 and the upper edge of the band at 30110.25. The nearest downside mark already survived one overnight trip, so the next clean decision is 29693.
CL: Crude cleared the 100 cap overnight, reached through the nearby mark at 100.50, and came all the way back under both. Price is 99.68, caught between 99 and 100.
GC: Gold has 4125 as the nearest mark below price, while 4150 and 4160 sit overhead before the rest of the book matters. Price is 4138.70, over 4125.
